Clos de Seux

Year
2008

Clos de Seux

The house was virtually demolished as the envelope was of such poor quality. It is now a very eco friendly building with lambs wool insulation, heated by air to water heat pumps transferring the heat by under floor heating. The rainwater is collected with a rainwater harvesting system that feeds the toilets. The external finishes are high quality to reflect its maritime location.

Colours, whilst all from a range of greys, are surprisingly rich in subtle undertones from the glaucous green of the slates to the blue-greys of the windows and cladding. Constructional details are carefully considered to optimise materials chosen for their propensity to patinate gracefully;even the hardwood decking is weathering to a complementary grey.
